The Spacemaker 75295 combination CD player and AM/FM stereo radio, digital clock, and timer conserves space by mounting neatly beneath cabinet or other fixture. GE includes all necessary hardware and a bilingual installation template (English and Spanish). The 75295 has a light, clean, streamlined design. Its twin 3-inch speakers are beveled downward for optimum sound quality at your listening position, and its cord functions as its FM antenna, so positioning is key for reception (and, of course, the cord has to reach the outlet). The Spacemaker's countdown timer is great for kitchen placement. It can be set for up to two hours, and it has an alarm that sounds at 0.00. If the CD or radio is on when the alarm sounds, the unit will soften the peripheral sound so that the alarm can be heard. An included remote control simplifies operation.

Three out of the other four reviews I read before posting this, gave this item one star - and only because that's the lowest rating available to choose from. I would give this a minus five. Lowsy reception and CD player quit working - and I'm about to return it for the second time! The 20+ yr old GE under counter radio I have gets perfect reception. We wanted to have a CD player too, so we tried this and wish we didn't. P.O.S.!!! (and I do not mean "point of sale".)The product was listed as "in good condition". However, when it arrived it had 2 broken parts and was very dirty. This is not my concept of "good condition". I'm not very happy at all. Therefore, I am returning this product and expect a full refund. The CD player is broken and doesn't work and that is the main reason why I bought it!Installed 2004, removed 2019. CD stopped working in 2010. Display started to fade in 2009, and was completed faded by 2017. Removed only to replace. Still functioned as a radio. Still pretty good for a device.I have owned this GE 75295 for several years and it has NEVER played CD's! It is quite an expensive piece of equipment to use as a timer. Next time I will just buy a timer for a couple of bucks.I bought this for my mother-in-law a few weeks ago. This is a great addition to her kitchen that she claims she can't live without. It was a replacement for her 10 year old cassette spacemaker, which finally stopped playing tapes after constant, daily use. Remote is a great feature, sound quality is the best I've heard from this type of a radio(remember, it's for a kitchen, not a surround sound setup). Easy 10 minute installation and setup. It should be noted that GE is the only under counter manufacturer that inculdes a light, a feature that Sony should add to theirs. As far as the CD problems, she's in the kitchen more than any other room, so it gets used A LOT, and there have NOT been any problems with skipping. And, some of the CD's are really scratched. So, I'm not sure why the other reviews have problems with the cd player. Maybe I just got lucky, maybe they had defective units, or maybe the cd's were scratched in the wrong place, but I would recommend this unit to anyone who needs a spacesaver radio. The only con I can think of is the price, but, it is average with all the other radios. I think they're all a little overpriced, but this is definitely the one with teh most useful features. Also note that it doesn't play cd-rw or mp3.My husband bought this for me last year primarily for the radio as I like to listen to local channels while I'm having breakfast before I leave for work. The radio reception is great but the CD player stopped recognizing CD's after only a few plays. What's the sense of having an appliance that only partially works? We just finished remodeling our kitchen and I told my husband not to reinstall this piece of junk on our new cabinets. What's wrong with GE? Can't they do anything right? We've had so much bad luck with GE appliances in the past ten years that now I'm even apprehensive about getting on an airplane powered by GE engines!I originally bought this at the local Best Buy, rather than Amazon...and good thing I did. The first one had to be returned because the CD player didn't work, the second because the radio reception was terrible.Beleive it or not, the 3rd one I kept. :) The reason I like the model is its incredibly small size and profile. All the others on the market were too big, and stood out in my kitchen like a sore thumb. Subtlety, people, subtlety! This is a *kitchen*, not a theater!Still, my model has some trouble receiving some more distant stations, and the "search" function is not very sensitive. The CD player works fine, and the speakers are adequate. It will do.If I could, I'd love to give a "dope slap" to GE's engineers, though. Improvements in this model are needed.
