This was a gift. Like way can record on tape. There is no off switch. When you are finished listening don't forget to turn off. Other wise will eat batteries faster than kid in candy store. You can take could take couple batteries out. I wanted to use it in car. As my radio no longer works. Have devise that plug into cigarette light. One end you plug into cigarette lighter. The other end has plug end like in your house. When doing this make sure no batteries in it. I will pull car radio soon As weather gets better will pull radio.
