First I purchased the larger radio in hopes of an above average reception. I took advantage of the package deal because I thought the short wave band could be interesting. The reception on the larger radio is just average but the smaller radio has a very good am-fm reception. However I could not get anything on the shortwave band. I will keep them both but I really only needed the smaller one of the two because the am reception was most important.
